The Sacramento Ragtime Society normally meets on the Last Sunday of each month in the afternoon. Meetings are mostly music, spliced with informal historical ragtime talk, announcements of upcoming events, etc.
In addition to solo pianists we have string, horn and percussion players. Besides the many fine local performers, we often have guests from the San Francisco Bay Area and from other locations on the West Coast and beyond.
The atmosphere is casual and the audience very supportive. Many students and beginning musicians have come to our meetings, gotten turned on to ragtime, and gone on to become excellent ragtime players!
You are welcome to come by and listen or play. There is no charge for admission, however, if you wish to subscribe to our newsletter, click here.
Currently, we meet from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the Straw Hat Pizza at 2929 Mather Field Road in Rancho Cordova. There is no admission fee, however, partaking of the food and beverage service will, hopefully, encourage the site's management to allow our continued use of the facility as our meeting locale.
